Joel Sutton is Lonesome Belle Music. He kick started his music career at 15 years old in Townsville, Australia, playing drums for Larry Cook's Hard Blues Band before making the move further north to Cairns where he held down the drum throne for the legendary Johnno's Blues Band.
Joel stayed for three years gathering more experience backing professional acts such as Ron Barry, Phil Emmanuel, Phil Manning, Shauna Jenson and Bob Spencer among many. A personal highlight for Joel during that time was the opportunity to back guitar monsters - Tommy Emmanuel and Albert Lee for a number of shows.

At 19, Joel moved south to Sydney to commence work with guitar legend Mal Eastick who is best known for his work with Aussie acts Stars and Jimmy Barnes. He toured nationally with Mal for four years during which time he also played on the album, The Southern Line. The album featured a number of respected musicians and the experience planted the seed for Joel's interest in the recording process.
Following his move, Joel also toured nationally for the first time with one of the originators of rock and roll - Johnnie Johnson - the legendary piano player for Chuck Berry.
He became a staple member of Bondi Cigars which Joel recalls as a great musical experience. The legendary act boasts a large and memorable catalogue of songs, and consistently toured around Australia.
For the most part, Joel has spent his musical career as a pick up musician for artists who may have needed a drummer at the time. He has traveled to Hong Kong with Melbourne Brazilian Samba legends - the Bad Boys Batacuda and recorded in America with ALT country artist, D Henry Fenton and early REM producer, Mitch Easter.
He was a member of the Australian rock band, Holly, which scored a major label deal with Roadshow Music and has played at BB King's bar in Memphis with Ali Penney and The Money Makers.
As a freelance drummer, Joel's client list included legendary Chuck Berry pianist "Johnnie Johnson", Vika and Linda Bull, James Reyne, D Henry Fenton, The Hippo's, The Flood, Adam Brand, Melinda Schneider, The Foreday Riders and too many more to mention.
Following such a varied career, Joel is putting his vast music experience to good use and turning his attention to recording and production via Lonesome Belle Music and looks forward to working with talented musicians from all corners of the globe.
